In this context, with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI) and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam (MOIT), the Center for Energy Conservation of Japan (ECCJ), Japan Business Alliance for Global Smart Energy (JASE-W) and Green Development Center (GreenDC) organized “Viet Nam – Japan Business Forum on energy efficiency, anergy conservation and renewable energy. “

Speaking at the forum, Mr. Trinh Quoc Vu, Deputy General Director, Department of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam shared: “Over the past years, the relationship between Vietnam and Japan has been increased, including cooperation in the field of energy efficiency, energy conservation and renewable energy between industries and enterprises of the two countries. To ensure energy security, the Government of Vietnam has been implementing synchronous solutions, including both developing new sustainable energy sources and while saving energy in all activities of life and economy, society. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is the focal point for the implementation of the National Program on economical and efficient use of energy for the period 2019 – 2030 with the goal of achieving energy savings of 5-7% of total national

energy consumption in the period from 2019 to 2025 and from 8-10% in the period from 2019 to 2030. In that context, the Vietnam-Japan Business Forum for  energy efficiency, energy conservation and renewable energy held in Hanoi will create great opportunities for Vietnamese stakeholders to reach out to suppliers from Japan in equipment and technology in the field of efficient energy use and renewable energy”.

At the forum, Mr. Masaomi Koyama – Director, Head of State-owned Enterprises, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan said: “The Japanese side will introduce advanced Japanese technologies such as manufacturing. waste electricity, heat pumps, cogeneration, high-efficiency boilers and energy-saving building materials, while at the same time trusting to be able to provide a venue that promotes exchanges between the Japanese and Vietnamese”.

The forum was conducted through 3 sessions with major topics, in session 1, experts and researchers shared solutions to improve energy efficiency for industries and manufacturing enterprises. The second discussion with the topic of electricity waste technology. The 3rd session covered the use of heat, high efficiency boilers and other technologies.

Closing the forum, Mr. Masahide Shima – Executive Director of Japan Energy Conservation Center affirmed: “ECCJ Japan Energy Conservation Center is the Japan contact point for introduction and dissemination Japan’s energy conservation experience, various policies and Japan’s experiences for the world. JASE-W Business Promotion Council will be the window to exchange Japanese smart energy building experiences. Vietnam and Japan will actively exchange and introduce different energy technologies and experiences that both sides seek”.
