IMPROVEMENT OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND WORKING CONDITIONS OF FISHING BOAT IN VIETNAM

On 21st November, 2017, at Hoa Binh Hotel, Hanoi, Green Development Center collaborated with Stanley Electric Co., Ltd. Of Japan to organize workshop Improvement of Energy efficiency and Working conditions in fishing boat”.

Mr. Nguyen Phu Quoc – Deputy Director General of Fisheries Exploitation Department – Directorate of Fisheries gives the opening remarks

This is activity under the framework of the Project “Energy saving and work efficiency improvement project by special fishing LED equipment with new technology, COB in Vietnam” (The Project), that was sponsored by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization which belongs to the Low-Carbon Growth Collaboration Program between Vietnam and Japan in accordance with Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM).

Mr. Satoshi Higaki, Deputy Director of NEDO international relationship gives a welcome to the workshop and introduces the Project

Objective of the Project is to promote industrialization and modernization of the fishing industry by using durable and modern LED technology which has been researched and developed by Stanley Electric Co., Ltd.

Mr Shoichi Bamba – Manager of Technical Department I, Stanley Electric Co., Ltd. – presents: Improvement of Energy efficiency and Working conditions in fishing boat applying special fishing LED equipment with new technology, COB

The Project demonstrated new LED technology (COB), as a lighting source for offshore fishing board (above 90 CV) to replace traditional halogen, mercury and incandescent. Estimated energy efficiency theoretically is over 70%.

According to the report in the workshop, the Project has installed 1.800 new LED with COB technology for offshore ship at Vinh Linh, Gio Linh and Trieu Phong provinces, to help fishermen saving fuel and increase economic – society benefits; and contribute to reduce GHG emission mainly from CO2.

In addition to providing information on the project, the workshop also introduced and shared the experience of application of lighting technology in fishing in Japan and Vietnam.
